Reports to: Building Principal Work Schedule: Reports to assigned school building each school day Employment Status: This position is hired and employed through EDUStaff.
The Premier Instructional Assistant supports students with special needs in accessing and understanding curriculum through individualized strategies and a student-centered approach. This position collaborates closely with instructional staff, ensures a safe and supportive learning environment, and serves as a key resource in both academic and behavioral intervention.
General Information/Duties:
Assist students with special needs to best understand curriculum by adapting to their learning style based on building need for that day
Ensure a safe and conducive environment for growth and learning consistent with policies and standards
Work cooperatively with the teacher concerning accommodation plans for students
Work as the resource person for complex discipline and physical situations that require intervention, screening, and follow-up
Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information
Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with students, parents, and staff
Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
High moral character, integrity, and strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience working with children with special needs and prior experience in special education settings preferred
