General Information/Duties:
- Supervise preschool through school age children (through 6th grade) before and after school
- Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, hand washing)
- Ensure a safe and conducive environment for growth and learning consistent with program standards and licensing regulations
- Work cooperatively with the director concerning accommodation plans for children with special needs
- Work as the resource person for complex discipline and physical situations that require intervention, screening, and follow-up
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children and staff.
- Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with children, parents, and staff
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings, events, or trainings
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Child Care
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire
- Reliable method of transportation
- At least one-year experience working with children in preschool through 6th grade
- High moral character, integrity, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Able to lift 30 lbs.
- Occasional reaching/stooping/bending/kneeling/crouching
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day with frequent prolonged standing/walking/moving
- Must be able to read and speak English
- Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
Terms of Employment:
- Approximately 180 to 200 days per year, but may vary with assignment
- Approximately 2.5 hours in the morning and 2.5 hours in the afternoon- based on timeframes of school schedules and child care need. Hours end when last child is picked up
- Hourly, non-exempt rate based on TPS schedule
